Re: Support Qt and CopperSpice

Hello! I have library which has multiple Qt PODs (Q_GADGETs). Is it possible to preserve Qt compatibility? For example, run PepperMill on original files. So, PepperMill will be called instead of MOC. As noted in our CS Overview documentation: The PepperMill utility is a parser and is run one time o...

Re: Where's the UI Designer?

Barbra .... not sure CS wants to be in the business of redistributing Qt Creator. But I do agree CS should make it easy to obtain. Getting it directly from Qt now a days requires "registration"... which just seems to open the door to aggravation. Just trying to maintain social distancing ;) If this...

Re: CopperSpice License Question

1) I do not claim to be an expert. just showing what is working for me - Remember I am an mechanical engineer ... us knuckle draggers bludgeon problems into submission 2) Started a github project separate from any Copperspice project, that way you have plausible deniability. - what is the standard ...

Re: Where's the UI Designer?

Would love to see temporarily a version of Qt Creator we can download from here. In the future, A Creator actually made in CS (with source and binaries alike) would be ideal. This seems doable. I think the best option is to set up a git repo where we can redistribute QtCreator. Since it is LGPL 2.1...

Re: CopperSpice License Question

The Kitchensink app is indeed a mashup of what seems to be 8-10 Qt examples.... so it definitely proves capability. My comment has to do with the target audience. I will also likely contact Bryan and see how he feels about us using his examples....using his videos and CS gitub ... could be a really...

Re: CopperSpice License Question

How is Qt WebKit licensed? I seem to remember that QtWebEngine is LGPL 3 and as CS is LGPL 2.1 I am assuming that it can’t be used within CS? I am a little surprised that a product can change it license from being LGPL to closed source but I guess this is allowed if you own it. What is the situatio...

Re: CopperSpice License Question

. . . should have a video about migrating from Qt to CopperSpice Our videos are bit more about C++ and those we have done about this CopperSpice and DoxyPress tend to be less popular. We are also not sure a video would help since the process can be different for each project. The amount of work inv...

Re: Where's the UI Designer?

For me, yes it would.
There were multiple options in my post, can you let me know which ones help you out. Keep in mind that licensing may prevent some options from being possible.

Thanks,

Barbara

Re: CopperSpice License Question

As we have mentioned it is our goal to release a stable CopperSpice API, just not at this point. If some company needs this we encourage them to contact us directly and discuss their requirements in full detail. However, I will add that we are seeing a flood of new users to CopperSpice, they just do...

Re: Where's the UI Designer?

Would our putting a copy of QtCreator on our download site for convenience help out?

What version would you consider to be a stable version?

Another idea is for us to release the UI Designer itself as a stand alone application, moved to CS. Would this be of value to CS users?
