Re: CopperSpice License Question
I have already: 1) I do not claim to be an expert. just showing what is working for me - Remember I am an mechanical engineer ... us knuckle draggers bludgeon problems into submission 2) Started a github project separate from any Copperspice project, that way you have plausible deniability. - what i...

Re: Where's the UI Designer?
Barbra .... not sure CS wants to be in the business of redistributing Qt Creator. But I do agree CS should make it easy to obtain. Getting it directly from Qt now a days requires "registration"... which just seems to open the door to aggravation. Just trying to maintain social distancing ;...

Re: CopperSpice License Question
I feel like I need to clarify my earlier comments, about Copperspice examples. The Kitchensink app is indeed a mashup of what seems to be 8-10 Qt examples.... so it definitely proves capability. My comment has to do with the target audience. In a previous life I had to motivate engineers to use Qt. ...

Re: CopperSpice License Question
I am hoping that seeing multiple simple projects built using libs that use Qt helps overcome the FUD factor. The VTK port will in my opinion be a HUGE vote of confidence. The kitchen sink as is just that, while it is impressive it is also overwhelming. People like small manageable bites. What might ...

Compilers and Intel OneAPI announcement
So very recently Intel seems to be making ALL of their compiler FREE. I reference these too links: https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-Fortran-Compiler/Webinar-Nov-11th-9am-PST-oneAPI-Compilers-discussed/td-p/1227214 and https://fortran-lang.discourse.group/t/intel-releases-oneapi-toolkit-free-fort...

Re: My Struggle with Qwt
Yes porting Qwt to Copperspice is one of my objectives. Unfortunately it is not a high priority, but probably next in queue. I work with a number of other developers using Conan, a C++ package manger. Conan is a high priority for us. So when I get time, building CS for Conan in Win 10, MSVS 19 is th...

Re: My Struggle with Qwt
I can't help on that working on putting Copperspice in Conan, but I to am a Qwt user.
I have already made a Conan build of Qwt for various versions of Qt
By the way I am mainly Windows based

Re: Minor request for the installer release 1.7
Yup the install worked fine. My only issues was that I would anticipate having multiple versions of CS over the years, so how do I differentiate them. Being the standard ignorant user and just clicking yes yes yes yes ... I got a dir: C:\CopperSpice where I should have ... at least for my taste crea...

Minor request for the installer release 1.7
I just installed the Windows package and the default location was: C:\CopperSpice
Since I anticipate having multiple version of CS over time may I suggest C:\CopperSpice\1.7 or something like that. Where the version is identified.
I know picky picky... thanks
Regards
Carl

Re: API stability and proje philosphy question
I will see you VMS and raise you Honeywell (36 bit) or cards and paper tape ... used them all an got paid :D ... By the way the last Vax I saw was on a farmers flat bed going to the scrap yard, and our HP9000 HP-UX machines we can't even find used parts on E-Bay (lost the source) Seasoned_Geek does ...
