Re: Windows 10 MSVC compile

How will renaming pthread.h affect PostgreSQL? Building on Windows we found a conflict between the pthread.h file in PostgreSQL and the pthread.h in the C++ standard library. This showed up as a runtime issue and the best solution has so far been to rename the file in PostgreSQL so it is not found....

Re: Windows 10 MSVC compile

Thanks for answering our questions, it makes support so much easier. fatal error C1060: compiler is out of heap space (1) How much memory do you have on this computer? Are you building CopperSpice in release mode now? -- PostgreSQL client library was found, plugin will not be built (2) In terms of P...

Re: Windows 10 MSVC compile

This is very interesting and we have some ideas. Thank you for being patient while we work this out. Just for reference, I am a Windows developer and I use PostgreSQL 10. The only difference is that I compile with MinGW and not MSVC. I have not experienced this problem and it sounds like we may need...

Re: Windows 10 MSVC compile

Odd question, do you have zlib installed on your system. This is not a typical set up for MSVC users.

Can you check your CMakeCache.txt file in the build directory and look for lines starting with ZLIB. See if ZLIB_INCLUDE_DIR is set to some path on your system.

Re: Windows 10 MSVC compile

Thanks so much for your interest in CopperSpice. We will do our best to help you get started. CopperSpice configured to run on: Windows 32 bit, Debug Mode (1) We noticed you are building a 32 bit binary, was this intended? (2) You are also building in Debug Mode and it looks like you wanted Release ...

Re: Has anyone built VTK apps with Copperspice?

Yes, anyone can absolutely migrate any VTK app to CopperSpice once their library has been migrated. The first step is to fork the VTK library. Update the CMake files, run PepperMill on the source code, then look and see what issues are remaining. We are happy to answer questions about the process an...

Re: CopperSpice on arm target

Just trying to build Cs on raspberry pi (Pi4 8GB). Looks like the build system does not like it much As per our CS Overview Documentation, raspberry pi is not currently a supported platform. The following is a link to the list of what we support and test in our CI. https://www.copperspice.com/docs/...

Re: update apt-get commands for debian/ubuntu

could the commands listed in docs be updated to a directly copy-pastable We are bit confused since we do have a "package install command" for all Unix platforms underneath each table. You can copy and paste to a script on your system. https://www.copperspice.com/docs/cs_overview/requirements-unix.h...

Re: fromUnicode() documentation bug

. . . every place in the documentation where QByteArray is returned from something that could have been some form of a string the documentation needs to spell out what form the content is really in. What really messes things up for this code and that answer is the loss of isHighSurrogate() This cod...

Re: Support for RHEL?

Theoretically CopperSpice could be a path forward for them, depending on any porting issues. The bulk of the support contract buyers, at least those with deeper pockets, need 15+ year LTS, not 7. Thanks for letting us know that Red Hat version 6 or 7 has a option for a new compiler. We checked this...
